Innovation Norway is the Norwegian Government's most important instrument for innovation and development of Norwegian enterprises and industry. Norwegian enterprises have access to a broad business support system as well as financial means. Innovation Norway provides competence, advisory services, promotional services and network services.

The Norwegian Export Credit Guarantee Agency (GIEK) is a public enterprise subject to the Norwegian parliament and the Norwegian Government as represented by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries. GIEK is mandated to issue guarantees on behalf of the Norwegian State in accordance with thOECD Export Credits Arrangemente. 

The Research Council’s main strategy in two overarching challenges: Society must expand its innovation capacity, in both the private and the public sectors, and it must enhance sustainability in all areas. The Research Council of Norway is proposing an increase of NOK 1.2 billion for research in its input to the national budget for 2017. EUs Horizon 2020 the world’s biggest program for innovation and research - 70 billion euro 2014-21.

Norway Grants – supports “Green” industry innovation in eight of the thirteen new EU – countries who joined the Union in 2004 – 13. Under the Norway Grants, Norway has set aside €804 million for the current funding period for small and midsize companies.

The World Bank – aim to increase their investments in green energy. They will now put more focus on increasing their lending to all types of renewable energy and other sources of energy that is available to «a reasonable price».

Export Credit Norway is wholly owned by the Norwegian government, and is administered by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries. They have been in operation since 1 July 2012.
